Before following music full time, Craig ran his own sales and marketing company nationally and internationally for 10 years. Craig will talk about his pragmatic and extremely practical approach to his work as a solo musician. He will share his experience in organising gigs and tours, promotion, sales and marketing (guerilla as well as traditional), merchandising, discuss how he's produced his albums and videos without funding, and how he managed to record his latest album with Stevie Wonders back up band in LA and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra in Chch.
Craig will also talk about the phenomenal success within the childrens genre with his two songs being turned into books, that have sold over 350,000 copies inside 21 months since being published.
"Once you've taken your art form as far as you can, from then on - if you want to make money from it - it ceases to be about the art form itself and more about how it is promoted and managed"
It won't matter if you're an old hand or new, in the same genre or different. The information Craig will be sharing can be applied to your situation. Craig's main focus will be on the business acumen needed once you have a sound product to promote.
