MEL PARSONS

Mel Parsons is an award-winning indie touring artist, label owner, and tour promoter. Parsons started Cape Road Recordings for the release of her first album in 2009, with five subsequent record releases and countless domestic & international tours since. She has built and maintains good relationships throughout all sectors of the music industry, spending 7 years on the IMNZ Board, and as a valuable voice on the Recorded Music NZ Artist Committee from 2022-24. 

Mel Parsons brings her perspective and experience as a self-managed working artist & small indie label owner, and is particularly passionate about advocating on behalf of her fellow artists. Parsons holds a Performing Arts degree in Music from the University of Auckland, and is based in Ōhinehou Lyttelton.
