Matt Sephton releases music video for ‘Siva’ from his album Vā

The music video for Siva, a vibey, bass-heavy track by Matt Sephton launches on 30 October.

Filmed on a beach on the south coast of Upolu, the video is all motion - sandy, fresh, energetic. The very awesome Tiapapata Youth Group put together a routine comprising two dances: a fa'ataupati and sāsā, which were choreographed by Vaisuala’o Sealiimalietoa.

"This was such a fun video to make, the crew really took it and made it their own, such a cool group to work with, really positive and full of creative energy"

Siva is from Vā, Matt’s debut album under his own name, which charted at #12 on the Aotearoa Albums chart. Recorded during a 2025 artist residency at Tiapapata Art Centre in Samoa. The track revolves around a thick, pushing bassline with complex rhythms, layered from pātē drums and fala performed by video director Peniamina Percival, cicadas, taro being scraped and snippets of voice performed by Samoan rapper Moonshine OSKK.
