Rei - Never Ceded DnB Remix

Never Ceded Remix is a DnB dance-floor Haka Kuki log drum anthem, bringing the sounds of the Pacific and a dance music fusion of Pakōpakō, Huia and Baitercell production, with helpful assistance from producer Brigsy of NLP. Rei's original waiata is a timely reminder that Māori rangatiratanga (sovereignty) remains to this day, as he currently plays out this waiata (song) on tour in Turtle Island/Canada.

‘Never Ceded’ was first written in Vancouver, Turtle Island/Canada with Nathan Chiu and finished at KOG Studio in Aotearoa alongside Chris Chetland (Baitercell). Blending Māori elements with heavyweight contemporary production, ‘Never Ceded’ Remix sits at the intersection of kaupapa and DnB.

Pakōpakō, Huia and Baitercell have multiple chart and radio successes with remixes for ‘Oro Taketake’ (Kruzi, Hori Shaw, Hohua Sta), Le Manu (Shepherds Reign), Manawa Raiona (Brutha Rodz), and originals like ‘Do It Like That’ and Korikori (Lady Shaka, Huia, Rei). As a new collective, with super experienced producers and vocalists, Pakōpakō is all about making waves in Hiko, te reo Māori Dance Music, with remixes and collaborative projects in motion for 2026/2027.
