BAKERS EDDY 'JACK SHIT FOR YOU'

Now based in Melbourne, Bakers Eddy (Claire Gormly) are about unleash their new material upon the world, revealing an exciting and fresh new sonic direction for the five-piece.

Recorded at Studio in the City, with Shihad’s legendary Tom Larkin on the production desk alongside Jon Grace (production/engineering), the band set about capturing their energetic live show in a studio setting.

"Those guys are great - They just got it, you know," says Jamie Gordon of the experience. "Off the bat they were speaking our language but took it further than we had ever anticipated.

“Our time spent working with Tom really changed our mentality about the recording process and in turn what we produced. Capturing our raucous live show and translating that same energy to the record, something we had never quite bridged until now.

"We haven't been this into what we have crafted since we first started the band and it’s exciting as f***!"

Bakers Eddy on Friday 1 September release their new single, ‘Jack Shit For You’. The track is the first from their upcoming EP - a fast tempo dirty-pop-punk tune, that’s full of youthful desperation.

"We're all about having fun at the moment, living large with zero dollars... I think that shows through the music. There's an element of ‘who gives a shit’ and youthfulness mixed with cheap wine.”

DECADES HIT THE ROAD IN JULY WITH SKINNY HOBOS, DEAD FAVOURS AND BAKERS EDDY

Four of New Zealand’s most exciting and emerging rock acts hit the road this July, playing in five centres across the country.
 
Decades, Skinny Hobos (Sam Holdom), Dead Favours and Bakers Eddy (Claire Gormly) are the newest generation of NZ rock royalty and kick off the nationwide ALL OUR TRUTHS tour in Hamilton on July 14, before heading to Auckland on July 15, Wellington July 22, Christchurch July 28, then winding up in Dunedin on July 29.

Headlining the ALL OUR TRUTHS tour is Christchurch band, Decades. Made up of four long-time friends; Emma Cameron (guitar, vocals, songwriter), Liam Muir (guitar, songwriter), Daniel Perry (drums), and Curtis Booth (bass, beard); Decades has just announced the release date of their debut album, THE TRUTH AND OTHER PEOPLE(July 14) and are looking forward to playing the new tracks live. The album features The Rock favourites ‘Terrified’ and ‘If It Kills Me’, along with new single, ‘Get Me Home’.

Joining Decades are Skinny Hobos, Dead Favours and Bakers Eddy. 

Skinny Hobos are a two-piece alternative rock band from Auckland, who have earned a reputation for being one of the hardest working bands in town. With a mesmerising live performance, Alex Elvis (guitar) and Texas Holdom (drums) produce a full gritty full rock sound. Skinny Hobos release their new single, ‘Suburban Living’ on June 9.

Dead Favours formed in 2016 with members originating from bands including Grammy-nominees Steriogram, Fire at Will, Bloodnut, Eqwanox, and Kara Gordon’s Wreckage among others. Dead Favours’ debut EP, produced by Tom Larkin, is due for release this July and features their current Rock radio hit, ‘Dig’. 

The energetic and always exciting Bakers Eddy are looking forward to playing on home soil. The four-piece are one of the most in-demand rock bands around, opening last year for Highly Suspect, Gang of Youths and The Rubens. Originally from Wellington and now based in Melbourne, Bakers Eddy are currently working with Tom Larkin, creating their debut album, and are looking forward to introducing fans to some of their new work and will be releasing a single in July to coincide with the tour.

BAKERS EDDY 'BIG MAN'

Bakers Eddy (Claire Gormly) release their new single on Friday 21/10 - Big Man

It has been a big year for the band in 2016.

They have achieved 2 lots of NZ on Air funding, been invited to play industry showcases (including "Going Global") and have had airplay on The Rock and Hauraki.

Their previous single "Wallbreaker" was playlisted on Edge TV, they opened for Gang of Youths and Highly Suspect in February this year and The Rubens last weekend in Wellington. They are opening for Villainy this Saturday at Bodega.

2017 promises to be even bigger starting off by playing 2 New Zealand music festivals ( including Homegrown )
