The Kiwi soul icon and her bassist, Marika Hodgson, will perform at the Sherwood in Queenstown on February 22, the Mayfair Theatre in Dunedin on February 23 and the SIT Centrestage in Invercargill on February 24.
The three-date tour will set the scene for another exciting year ahead for Smith, who in 2016 released her third full-length record WATER OR GOLD. The album secured Smith two nominations (Album of the Year and Best Female Solo Artist) at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards and received rave reviews from critics.
“Her pipes get the full workout on belters like ‘Any More’ and
‘In Love Again’ and she’s at her emotional peak in the heart-breaking
‘Helena’… and the intimate closer ‘Dream’.”
– James Belfield, The Listener
“Hollie Smith sings with equal parts vibrancy, raw energy and effortless control”
– Rolling Stone Magazine
Undoubtedly one of New Zealand’s strongest voices, Smith emerged in the late 1990s, working with the likes of Fat Freddy’s Drop and Trinity Roots.
She then cemented her place as one of the country’s most cherished acts with the 2006 Don McGlashan penned single ‘Bathe in the River’ before releasing her smash debut album LONG PLAYER, followed by HUMOUR AND THE MISFORTUNE OF OTHERS, and collaborations with Mara TK, as well as Anika Moa and Boh Runga.

Airbourne are taking Kiwi teen metallers Alien Weaponry (Hammerhead de Jong) on the road with them when they tour New Zealand early next year.
Presented by The Rock FM, Australia’s raucous rockers Airbourne (Joel O’Keeffe, Ryan O’Keeffe, David Roads and Justin Street) will play the Kings Arms in Auckland on Thursday, January 26, the San Francisco Bath House in Wellington on Friday, January 27 and CPSA in Christchurch, on Saturday, January 28.
Airbourne left a trail of destruction with their first three albums RUNNIN’ WILD; NO GUTS. NO GLORY and BLACK DOG BARKING. Now their latest, 2016’s BREAKIN’ OUTTA HELL is inflicting the same sort of damage, with the kick-ass track ‘Rivalry’ being blasted on The Rock.
Alien Weaponry (14-year-old Lewis de Jong, his 16-year-old brother Henry and 14-year-old Ethan Trembath) will open for Airbourne at all three gigs. The young thrash metal band from Northland made New Zealand music history this year when they won both the Smokefreerockquest and Smokefree Pacifica Beats competitions. Their stonking new tune ‘Urutaa’ is out now.

After 12 years of incredible collaborative performances, Kiwi icons Fly My Pretties are hitting the road this summer, with a brand new album, playing in some of New Zealand’s most stunning outdoor venues.
Following a recent run of nine intimate sold-out shows to record the new album String Theory, Fly My Pretties will take to the road in January 2017 to perform the new album along with the classics. Marking the first nationwide tour for Fly My Pretties since 2013’s Homeland Tour, this run of shows will see a 14-strong cast take to the stage, with a number of special guests.

This tour will bring the album, the sixth outing from Fly My Pretties, to life in the way the songs were meant to be heard: live and at full power.
Described as a “cosmic trip through the universe inside and outside us – led by some of Aotearoa’s finest musicians”by 13th Floor reviewer Stephen Allely, the all new Fly My Pretties show is set to enchant audiences across the country.
