No stranger to the big stage - Katie has supported both Don McLean and Sir Elton John during their New Zealand tours. 

This year, following a successful performance at the Great Kiwi Beer Festival, Thompson mesmerized audiences at the Tussock Country New Zealand Country Music Festival in May. She was a finalist for Best Country Song and performed at the Country Music Honours evening alongside fellow co-writers Victoria & Andy Knopp.

This tour marks a significant return for PRINS, who has spent the past year solidifying her place in the international music scene. Highlights include a show-stopping performance at Christchurch's James Hay Theatre, a whirlwind tour across Germany, and now, a triumphant return to Australia after supporting some of KPOP's brightest stars.

NEIL MACLEOD Tunnel Vision

Neil MacLeod is an artist who is steadfast in their vision. On Friday 24th of May, he will release new single ‘Tunnel Vision,’ the follow up track to ‘Fear’, a watershed moment in the ongoing artistic evolution of the 24-year-old Ōtautahi/ Christchurch born New Zealand singer-songwriter, producer, engineer, and artist. 

A decade on from when a young MacLeod first uploaded his early music to SoundCloud, Neil has honed his craft from singer-songwriter demos to widescreen productions, born from introspection, reflection, and masterfully curated self-expression. 

His new single ‘Tunnel Vision’ takes what we have come to appreciate in MacLeod’s skill as a producer and musician, and elevates it to a place that’s new for the artist.  “This is a side of myself that people haven’t heard yet,” says MacLeod. The track starts with delicate, slightly distorted piano, before settling into a beat that drives the song forward in a way that entices and soothes. 

Lyrically, MacLeod explores the idea of pure vision and drive. “It’s a song about the impact of that mindset - tunnel vision - specifically in a relationship,” he says. “The chorus talks about not being able to see the forest for the trees. That’s something I’ve dealt with more than I’d like to admit, getting hyper fixated on things to a fault. The song resolves that a ‘little closer to the middle’s where we wanna be.' I think that’s true - somewhere between focused and curious is where I want to exist.”

It’s a song that showcases a new side of MacLeod’s unique sonic identity and was written with Sam Thompson (Drax Project) and mastered by Ryan Schwabe.

For MacLeod, the visual world of songs holds acute importance, and the visualiser accompanying ‘Tunnel Vision’ continues the mystery we first got a taste for with the release of ‘Fear.’ It builds anticipation for the full spectacle waiting in the wings to be released with his upcoming EP. 

“The video is a continuation of a story we started telling with the visualiser for my last single ‘Fear’. The story these clips tell is a symbolic one with a concept that can’t be easily explained without ruining the surprise of what’s yet to come. For now I just want people to bathe in the mystery. There’s an amazing visual offering on its way, and these visualisers are simply warming up your taste buds. Everything will connect soon enough.” The visualiser was animated by Dylan Pritchard and co-directed by MacLeod and director, writer and photographer, Oscar Keys. 

Nourished by a musical diet of atmospheric electronica artists such as Bon Iver, Burial, James Blake, Floating Points, Kiasmos, Arca, and Björk, MacLeod is well on his way to establishing himself as a pillar in the electronic music landscape of Aotearoa. His EP We Have Known Lost Days (Remixed) was nominated for Te Tohu Hopunga Puoro Mariu (Favourite EP / Mixtape) at the 2023 Student Radio Network Awards, and received recognition from outlets such as Dazed, Acid Stag, and NZ Musician.

Rising R&B-pop gem Miakie (Mia Söhnge) is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of her new single, A Thousand Feathers, on May 24. Written for Mia’s partner, the song beautifully encapsulates the sentiment of being a steadfast presence during challenging moments.

REB FOUNTAIN - HOW BIZARRE

Reb Fountain pays homage to one of the ‘greatest New Zealand songs of all-time’; OMC's worldwide hit, How Bizarre.

 Award winning artist Reb Fountain releases her exceptional version of one of New Zealand’s most successful songs;  OMC’s classic hit, ‘How Bizarre’. Taking inspiration from Johnny Cash and his tribute to 'American Recordings', Reb Fountain amplifies one of Aotearoa’s finest pop hits for NZ Music Month. With the gothic swag of her delivery and a fragility of voice that breaks the heart open, Reb transforms 'How Bizarre' into a tale of Lynchian proportions.

Written by Pauly Fuemana and Alan Jansson and performed by OMC - Otara Millionaire’s Club – ‘How Bizarre’ was released in 1995 as the hit of the summer.  Reb’s version will be the anthem of our winter; a poignant retelling that shares this iconic track in a whole new light.

Produced by Dave Khan and recorded with engineer Tom Havard at Sublime Studios, Reb’s recording encapsulates the prodigious undertone of OMC’s ‘How Bizarre’: art for art’s sake.  In 'How Bizarre', we are transported to the dystopian world of the artist, where the currency is literature of the spirit and Artists give their lives for the chance to taste it's nectar. It is the dedication to the creative work that we see reflected in the sheen of the Chevy 69’ every time we look around. 

Legendary music photographer Chris Cuffaro took the extraordinary image of Reb that is the cover art.  Paying homage to Pauly’s single cover, half her face is obscured; catching a glimpse of the whole but not the full story. Reb has uncovered the missing chapter of one of Aotearoa's most iconic songs; the rich and complex landscape of the artist, emboldened by fame and underpinned by tragedy and loss.   

We see the whole picture enriched and emblazoned with the artist’s experience and it is a creative world that we would bereft without.

Sam Fowles Unveils a Cinematic Visual Journey with 'Butterfly Baby' Music Video Premiere

Sam Fowles, the emerging psychedelic soul artist from Pōneke, New Zealand, presents a captivating visual journey with the release of his brand-new music video for his groovy debut single 'Butterfly Baby'. 

The song the first of a series of singles foreshadowing his debut album, ‘After Dark,’ set for release later this year. The album is co-produced by Fowles and Barnaby Weir (The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties). 

Directed by Jack Marlin and featuring cinematography by Jack Nielson, the video presents a touching narrative that resonates with the essence of Fowles's songwriting.

Set against the vibrant cityscape of Pōneke, the story follows a chance romantic encounter between two strangers, leading to a day filled with shared experiences and intimate moments. The visuals paint a vivid picture of budding romance and the fleeting nature of love.

Sam Fowles and Kara Wells portray the storyline, from playful games of pool and cards to moments of quiet intimacy, each scene resonating with a sense of fleeting beauty.

Reflecting on the video's inspiration, Fowles explains: “Jack (Marlin) and I were brainstorming ideas when he mentioned the film ‘Before Sunrise’. Intrigued, I watched it and dug the concept as a fitting visual representation of my lyrics’ sentiment.”

Director Jack Marlin captures Fowles's lyrical vision with precision, while Jack Nielson's cinematography adds a cinematic quality to each frame. 

'Butterfly Baby' solidifies Sam Fowles's status as an emerging talent, offering audiences a glimpse into the depth and sincerity of his artistry.

As the music video debuts, the artist invites fans to immerse themselves in a journey of love, loss, and the enduring power of human connection.
