Auckland based Electro-pop group Coldroom, David Darby and Kenan Stephenson, have hit EDM magic with their new track ‘Lost.’
Hidden away in a remote farm studio, amongst alpacas, the pair drew on the feeling of being lost in the middle of nowhere.
“It’s a song about wanting to escape, but not wanting to be alone. It’s about wanting to get away from everything and just be with that someone you love,” says Kenan.
‘Lost’ is a banger that delivers a glimpse into Coldroom’s colourful world, just in time for spring. ‘Lost’ is out today and available on all platforms.

Christabel releases fearless follow-up to Popstars success.
Popstars winner Christabel is taking charge. Not only is her latest single a story of confrontation with an abusive past, it's an independent release and sound that reflects the new-found power she has found in her artistry.
Popstars winner Christabel is taking charge. Not only is her latest single a story of confrontation with an abusive past, it's an independent release and sound that reflects the new-found power she has found in her artistry.
Ankle Deep is Christabel's first single since she took out the ground-breaking television show, one that emphasised artist development over drama and pageantry; and it fully justifies the accolades she received.
It's a strikingly mature sound and story that was first teased as part of Popstars and comes to us now fully formed, revealing a dark depth to its lyrics.
"Ankle deep was written about a time where I found myself stuck in a physically abusive relationship," Christabel says. "'If the water’s only ankle deep, why are we still drowning?' translates to 'If it’s so easy to walk away from the abuse, why couldn’t I?”
Beyond these lyrical reflections are calls of hope and freedom within the melody and music, leaving listeners sure that Christabel has emerged stronger for the experience.
Following on from the success of If You Ain't Looking, a number one on the Hot NZ Singles Chart, Ankle Deep is yet another impressive step towards an inevitable and highly anticipated album from this rising star.

Today, Graham Candy shares a picturesque video for his new single 'Find My Way' taken from his forthcoming EP Keep On Smiling out on September 10th.
In this spectacular journey across Aotearoa, the Kiwi singer-songwriter explores some of our most awe-inspiring landscapes - from the pristine mountain ranges of Fiordland to the dramatic black-sand beaches along the West Coast.
The song's feel-good message is brought to life by Candy's travels which were filmed over the course of a year, across the seasons, and as you can see, mostly in his jandals. With the place names of each of the 25 scenic spots included, the video creates postcard-like frames of New Zealand for Candy's international audience.
With the platinum-selling artist now based in Berlin (since 2013), it's a special time for Candy to send his love for his country back home with Kiwis currently in lockdown.
'Find My Way' follows new singles 'Aroha', 'Belong' and 'Belong (Deepend Edit)'.
Graham Candy is a singer songwriter of upbeat dance pop music who moved to Berlin in 2013. Candy had his first collaboration with famed German DJ and producer Alle Farben, ‘She Moves’ (2014) that gained him quick popularity with his quirky, high-range vocals, as well as his first platinum single.
Since the move, Candy has performed at Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, numerous European festivals and twice (2016,2020) at one of Europe’s biggest street parties; The New Years Eve Party at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to a live crowd of 1 million and televised crowd of 8 million!
Graham Candy’s New EP - Keep On Smiling coming soon...
Keep On Smiling will be the second EP from Graham Candy. Five songs from the past five years have been put together to show all the sides of Candy: The singer-songwriter, the 90’s kid, the genre jumper!
Keep On Smiling is a feel good collective, giving listeners sing-along hooks, vibey lyrics and a personality that many Europeans have gotten to know and Kiwis are about to discover.
LAZY FIFTY ' MY HAND'
Introducing ‘My Hand’, the second single off Lazy Fifty’s new album 2021: A LAZY ODYSSEY.
Introducing ‘My Hand’, the second single off Lazy Fifty’s new album 2021: A LAZY ODYSSEY.
My Hand was inspired by popular Netflix series Peaky Blinders, the video gives a nod to the series while at the same time being as kiwi as they come, shot on location in Lazy Fifty’s home town Tairāwhiti-Gisborne.
Lazy Fifty’s third album '2021: A LAZY ODYSSEY' (release date 17 November 2021) was recorded at Roundhead Studios (Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand), with renowned producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Devilskin, The Feelers, Opshop, Ekko Park, Troy Kingi).
Lazy Fifty’s music harks back to the classic rock of the 70s, enhanced with a healthy dose of funk, rocking rhythms and impressive guitar.
The name Lazy Fifty comes from the saying of an old friend. When he asked you for a ‘lazy twenty’ (dollars), you knew you’d never see the money again. That was a long time ago and their friend is no longer with us. In memory of him, and allowing for inflation, they are now ‘Lazy Fifty’.

Devon Welch releases 'Someday' his debut single off the highly anticipated album "Journey to Freedom"
The story of 'Someday' is an honest excerpt of Kāpiti musician Devon Welch's life story turned sonic anthem. Through an unspeakable amount of personal trauma, this is the comeback story!
The story of 'Someday' is an honest excerpt of Kāpiti musician Devon Welch's life story turned sonic anthem. Through an unspeakable amount of personal trauma, this is the comeback story!
'Someday's chorus' at first expresses the feeling of not being where we think we ought to be in life and simply retiring to the drinking culture of NZ, after feeling backed into a corner (often by our own minds). It marks the question of "Am I even good enough for (enter personal vision here)...." and the internal battle that can ensue.
The verse then gives you a glimpse into the hard but raw truths of one individual feeling, the push and pull of his thoughts, emotions and surroundings whilst trying to listen to his core intuition guiding him along the way. Before the saxophone signals finding the answer within and bursting forth unto it with foolish abandon.
Devon has found solace and spiritual guidance within his music stating " At one point or another, this was all that made sense in my world." This he hopes - opens a conversation towards internal struggles and dissipates some of the heaviness that can burden souls of today.
With an armada of highly skilled musicians backing his every move, he looks to the bigger stages to find appropriate space for his ever expanding live performances. Currently in the last days of his Boosted Campaign - He invites the public into his personal experience of humanness and asks for their help and support in carrying these messages to those in need.

Reuben Hudson Announces New Single Drag featuring Jade Lewis
Reuben Hudson is thrilled to announce the release of the latest single from Reuben Hudson; Drag available everywhere today
Reuben Hudson is thrilled to announce the release of the latest single from Reuben Hudson; Drag available everywhere on August 20th, 2021.
Drag is a psychedelic, alternative punk pop song written, performed, produced, and recorded, by Reuben Hudson. The single will be on streaming platforms August 20th.
Following the single Baby Bedside (released in May), this continues Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand artist Reuben Hudson’s return following kidney transplant surgery in 2020. Drag is unique in its confronting lyrical themes of self-criticism and depression. Made amidst some of Reuben’s lower points in health, he approaches these emotions playfully and universally – with word play throughout echoing an influence of hip-hop and rap.
“Boy you’re such a drag, can’t believe you’d have your tea like that.”
“I just like it black; I’ve been told I got a knack for that.”
Reuben (Nothing Much to Do, Lovely Little Losers, Lapis, Club Ruby, Music Student at the University of Auckland) played and recorded the whole song in his bedroom before enlisting the help of friends and fellow students Jade Lewis (vocals) and Jin Song (mixing and mastering).
Reuben is working on a studio EP currently, with singles scheduled for release in the final quarter of 2021.
