Rei - Never Ceded DnB Remix
Never Ceded Remix is a DnB dance-floor Haka Kuki log drum anthem, bringing the sounds of the Pacific and a dance music fusion of Pakōpakō, Huia and Baitercell production, with helpful assistance from producer Brigsy of NLP. Rei's original waiata is a timely reminder that Māori rangatiratanga (sovereignty) remains to this day, as he currently plays out this waiata (song) on tour in Turtle Island/Canada.

INDIE BLUES-ROCK TRIO BB & THE BULLETS DROP NEW SINGLE

Fresh off a meteoric rise that has cemented their status as Aotearoa's hardest-working blues-band, electrifying trio BB & THE BULLETS are thrilled to announce the global release of “Freak Show” from their sophomore album “Wrong Side Of The River”.
Recently signed to Memphis label Overton Music, BB & THE BULLETS continue to build on the runaway success of their acclaimed debut album High Tide – which was released last year via iconic French blues label Dixiefrog Records.
Wrong Side Of The River hit #4 on the Aotearoa Music Charts in their home country of New Zealand when it was released there in April and now singles are being rolled out to support the international release of the album on October 2nd.
“Freak Show” is a highlight of our live show. Easy to sing a long to, relatable, it’s been called a pub rock song but we see it as a two step blues with a little taste of Frank Zappa weirdness. Doesn’t life feel like a freak show sometimes? Brian gets to stretch out on the guitar solo arrangement, it’s a lot of fun, live or recorded. And catchy! The guys have shot a video to support the songs release here.
Since bursting onto the scene, BB & THE BULLETS - guitarist/vocalist Brian Baker, bassist Stu “The Glue” Duncan, and drummer Brad MacMillan – have earned a reputation for blistering live performances and tireless touring. Just back from the Bay Of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival, the band continues to play to enthusiastic crowds across the country, leaving fans hungry for more.
Debut album High Tide stormed the charts, hitting #12 on the Aotearoa Music Charts, #5 on the IMNZ Independent Music NZ Chart, and claiming the #1 spot on the Roots Music Report’s Australian Album Chart for 20 weeks. It continues to sell strongly in stores and at shows – with signed vinyl editions proving especially popular among devoted fans. Globally, the album is currently sitting at #16 on the Roots Music Report’s Blues Rock Album Chart and hit #29 on the NACC (North American College and Community) chart.
Their debut album High Tide earned international acclaim and chart success, and their new studio album Wrong Side Of The River promises to be a landmark release for the band – a bold, confident step forward that solidifies their place as one of the most exciting blues-rock acts to emerge from New Zealand in years.
It is clearly evident that the blues scene is alive and vibrant on Antipodean shores, so blues fans, buckle-up, grab your mates and tickets - don’t miss your chance to check out an epic blues-rock experience like no other with BB & The Bullets!
SID DIAMOND RETURNS WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE “RETURN” AND HEADS ON TOUR
Return is the opening track from Sid Diamond's third album 'Everything', marking his return to music after a lengthy break. More than an album, Everything is a deeply personal body of work reflecting the realities, resilience and lived experiences of communities often overlooked in mainstream conversations across Aotearoa.
An honest reintroduction exploring loss, fatherhood, healing and finding his voice again
Return is the opening track from Sid Diamond's third album 'Everything', marking his return to music after a lengthy break. The song includes an interpolation derived from the song ‘Mr Mista’ which was performed by Nesian Mystik and Kimbra, and written by the members of Nesian Mystik and Che Fu.
‘Return’ is written as a conversation between a fan and Sid, beginning with the fan asking where he's been and why he disappeared from the scene. Sid responds by opening up about the realities of his absence dealing with loss, depression, and stepping away from music while building a family and finding purpose in fatherhood.
Rather than your typical comeback song, Return is an honest reflection on growth, healing, and rediscovering his passion. It sets the tone for the entire album, which explores life beyond the streets through themes of family, responsibility, identity, and resilience.
“‘Return’ marks the start of the healing process. You have to listen to the album in full to understand what that means,” says Sid.
“Return” is both an explanation and a reintroduction. Sid hasn’t forgotten where he comes from, but the artist returning today carries a different perspective—one shaped by experience, whānau, fatherhood, healing and personal growth.
More than an album, Everything is a deeply personal body of work reflecting the realities, resilience and lived experiences of communities often overlooked in mainstream conversations across Aotearoa.
Released independently, the nine-track album is Sid Diamond’s third full-length project and his most mature work to date—a powerful reflection on identity, fatherhood, healing, culture, survival and legacy.
Building on stories first explored in the award-winning albums The Truth and What Doesn’t Kill Me, Everything brings closure to narratives shaped by pressure, trauma, resilience and the complexities of urban life, while creating space for healing, hope and transformation.
Every track, transition and sonic choice carries purpose. From the opening conversation of “Return” to the closing karakia in “Trap Door,” the album unfolds with a cinematic quality, carrying listeners through life’s pressure, chaos and challenges towards growth and moments of peace.
At its heart, Everything carries an important message: through hard work, growth and commitment, a better future for ourselves and our whānau is possible.
Creatively, the album stands out for its authentic storytelling and thoughtful lyricism. Culturally, it offers an important voice grounded in Sid’s lived experience, Māori and Cook Islands identity, South Auckland roots, whānau, struggle, healing and hope.
At a time when many communities are searching for stories that reflect their realities, Everything is shaped not only by where Sid Diamond has come from, but by the man, father and artist he has become.

Fresh from taking home Best Group at the 2026 Pacific Music Awards, Wellington trio A.R.T are keeping their biggest year yet rolling with their latest single, Look At Me.
Co-written with Sammy Johnson and produced by The Ikonics, Look At Me sees A.R.T return to the R&B-meets-reggae sound that connected strongly with audiences on their standout 2026 single Over Now.
At its heart, Look At Me is about the frustration of a relationship caught somewhere between real feelings and a lack of commitment. One minute everything feels like it's finally falling into place; the next, it's broken promises, mixed signals and unanswered questions.
The song's central challenge is simple: look me in the eyes and tell me you don't feel what I feel.
That emotional push and pull is balanced by A.R.T's signature three-part harmonies and warm, reggae-influenced production, creating a track that is equally vulnerable and easy to vibe to.
The release comes just weeks after a major career milestone for the trio, who were crowned Best Group at the 2026 Pacific Music Awards, further cementing A.R.T's place among the country's rising Pacific music acts.
Look At Me also marks the latest instalment of A.R.T's ambitious First Thursdays campaign, with the group committing to releasing new music every month throughout 2026. The campaign has given A.R.T the opportunity to explore new sounds, collaborate with different artists and producers, and keep fans guessing about what's coming next.
With Look At Me, A.R.T bring things back to a sound that has already resonated with their audience, while proving there's plenty more to come from one of Wellington's most exciting groups.

Ukrainian-born and Aotearoa-raised, VÏKAE creates calamity pop for a world caught somewhere between beauty, panic and collapse. Blending industrial electronics, distorted pop, cinematic production and haunting melodies, her music turns grief, rage, survival and modern chaos into something theatrical, visceral and strangely euphoric.
West Auckland producer and vocalist Vanessa Tottle builds richly textured electronic worlds from brooding basslines, trip-hop rhythms, shadowy synths and velvet vocals. Entirely self-produced, her music moves with a slow-burning intensity, drawing listeners into an atmosphere that feels intimate, nocturnal and otherworldly.

NEWLY ADDED - FLOYD MASRDEN
Floyd Marsden is a multi-talented singer-songwriter, teacher, and producer based in Aotearoa. Having taught herself jazz piano at the age of 12, she quickly found a knack for songwriting. Her stylish instrumentals mixed with her acerbic and often absurd lyricism creates a unique and emotional catalogue of music. Inspired by the works of Arctic Monkeys, Laufey, Alexandra Savior, Tim Minchin, and more, her lyrics draw from the conceptual and from the painstakingly realistic.

The band's second single ‘Murder Me Again’ is out today. A light hearted take on the comparison of being ghosted and being murdered. A barnstorming, country-soul swingfest, inspired by an incel workmate’s insufferable uttering. The song has been put through the Two Dollar filter with plain spoken lyrics we can all relate to. "You don’t pick the phone up when I call anymore and it feels just like murder, what did you do it for"
With the bold decision of yacht rock guitar shredding, telephone line lead vocals and an ultra catchy chorus, here’s another 70s slanted rocker to prepare listeners for the LP in full force.
The single release comes with the news of their debut album, ‘The Interesting Sounds Of The Two Dollar Trio’ which hits the stores October 23. Recorded mostly at Soundpark in Melbourne at the end of ‘25, the album serves up 12 songs all written by the Trio, every song dripping with harmonies and country soul punch. They’ll be performing at the Merri Creek Tavern in Naarm that very day, with NZ shows soon to be announced.
Two Dollar Trio
The origins of The Two Dollar Trio trace back to a chance connection in Melbourne in 2024. Having previously been introduced through producer Delaney Davidson, Hattaway and Armstrong eventually crossed paths with Feeney. What began as evenings spent singing old country songs together soon evolved into a songwriting collaboration and, ultimately, a band. Something of a fantasy project for all three musicians.
The countdown is on to the release of JessB’s highly anticipated sophomore album MATTERS OF THE HEART
After drip feeding fans with two killer new tracks, Aotearoa hip-hop powerhouse JessB has revealed that she will release her highly anticipated new album MATTERS OF THE HEART on Thursday September 10.
After drip feeding fans with two killer new tracks, Aotearoa hip-hop powerhouse JessB has revealed that she will release herhighly anticipated new album MATTERS OF THE HEART on Thursday September 10.
In June, the Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist released ‘Not Today’ - an experimental and high energy track rooted in heartbreak, but with a hopeful undercurrent. The song quickly became a top 10 alternative radio charting favourite in Aotearoa and a staple across SRN playlists.
JessB followed it up with the recent release of ‘See You There’, which received praise from music critic Graham Reid from The Listener:
“Delivered in her quietly determined and persuasive voice, this new single…
by Jess B reduces her part to short terse verses. But it gains its power from her co-production with Andrew Meyer where her repetition of the title is multi-layered over a clattering percussion, cello and intense backing vocals from a choir.”
‘See You There’ and ‘Not Today’ offer a window into an album shaped by the complexities of love, loss, growth and human connection – themes that have long sat at the heart of JessB’s music.
With MATTERS OF THE HEART, JessB continues to explore authenticity, personal growth, and connection. With the stamina of a professional athlete, the sensitivity of a textbook cancer sign, and the unfettered creativity of an artist who embraces change, this new album is an exciting addition to an already impressive discography. MATTERS OF THE HEART is released on Thursday September 10.
JessB has spent the last seven years traversing Aotearoa, Australia, Asia, Europe, and the UK, through the shared global cultures that connect hip-hop, R&B, dancehall, ragga and afrobeats. Along the way, she’s shared stages with Kehlani, and Coldplay; has recorded with Sister Nancy, and Sampa The Great and headlined her own tours. Not slowing down, JessB has upcoming performances including ELLE & L’s Festival in Berlin on August 29, Circus in Osaka, Japan on September 21, Circus x Circus Odaiba Festival in Tokyo on September 23, and AfroSoul Festival in Brisbane on October 11.
